Montana/Southern Idaho Advanced Field Camp - 3 credits
3 weeks - ~$2,847 This course focuses on traditional bedrock mapping, identifying structures, and hazard assessment. Students will see a wide variety of rocks, experience a wide variety of weather/temperatures, and recommend solutions to a wide variety of geologic problems. Students must camp and prepare food the first ~3 days and stay in dorms the remaining days. Physical activity requirements are moderate-high intensity but can be adapted for student's needs with discussion before camp. Minecraft Virtual Economic Field Camp - 3 credits
3 weeks ~$2,057 Students in this virtual camp get to learn bedrock mapping, similar to a traditional geology field camp, but also get to explore the subsurface! After reading and interpreting geophysical well logs, choose your most likely prospect and dig for oil. Students will also learn how to log core from the Lucky Friday Mine, build a 3D silver vein model, and dig out the ore.
